It's a noteworthy day in Seattle. Today broke the record for the hottest day ever in Seattle. Temperatures in the area hit or exceeded 100 degrees!! Man, that is hot. Of course hardly anyone has air conditioning in their homes, including me. I am surviving by drinking lots of water, wearing my bathing suit top and a skirt in my apartment, blasting fans, and trying not to let any of my skin touch any of my other skin. It's been super hot all week, and it's not supposed to be below 90 until the weekend. High 80's is going to be such a relief!
The other noteworthy item is that apparently someone tried to break into my apartment building yesterday. There was an attempt to take the front door off by removing a pin from one of the hinges. It was an unsuccessful attempt, but still scary. There have been other burglaries/break-ins in the neighborhood recently. Hopefully it won't happen again. That was way too close to home that time.
