busy times!

The last couple of weeks have been kind of crazy with activities and socializing, but it's been fun.

Two weeks ago was snow camp with church people. The snow was abundant and beautiful. The snowshoes got lots of action.

Last weekend I had probably the busiest weekend ever. Friday night was a co-ed wedding shower for my friends Jennifer and Chris. They are getting married in Mexico in the end of March, and I will be going!

On Saturday I helped Jess and Maddie move, did a little shopping, and stopped at work briefly to give a formula recipe for a nurse (I was on call).

Then I went to Alana's for dinner, and then she, Imants, Maria, and I went to a work party for NICU/Infant Special Care Unit staff. This party is held every other year in January at the Edgewater, and is put on by one doctor primarily, with financial contributions from a couple of the other doctors. Everyone gets dressed up, and there are hors d'oeuvres and 2 free drinks per person, a comedian (this year was Kermit Apeo), and then a DJ and dancing. It was lots of fun to get all dressed up and to see everyone else all fancy too!

After the comedian I left to go to Natalie's 30th Birthday party where there was karaoke, Rock Band game, and of course food and drink. Yummy cupcakes!! Some of the karaoke highlights I participated in were "Ice Ice Baby", "Bye Bye Bye", "Hit Me Baby One More Time", and Abbe and I finally sang "Alone" by Heart which we had dreamed of doing for years. We rocked it too!! That was a late night.

The next morning I got paged and had to go in to work to see two kids, so I had to miss church. While I was at work I found out about a third nutrition consult, and then when I got home I was paged with a fourth!! That is unheard of on a weekend on call. However, I called to see if it really had to be done, and the nurse said it could wait until Monday.

Thank goodness, because I had a bridal shower for Jen. Since her parents were in town for the weekend, they decided to have a lot wedding stuff they could participate in. So I was at the shower most of the afternoon, which was fun.

Then I went to University Presbyterian in the evening, and then crashed. I was exhausted. Not a lot of sleep and lots of action all weekend. Fortunately I had Monday off.

I have been hanging out with lots of people lately too, and LOST started up again this past Thursday, which for the past 3 years has been a friend gathering every week. A bunch of us went bowling on Friday night. It has all added up to being rather busy in the past few weeks. But it's all good!
