When I was packing and getting ready to move, I found a bunch of letters that had been given to me when I was at a spiritual retreat six years ago. My parents' good friend, Anita, included this quote in her letter to me:
"Let us not be afraid to be fools and not afraid to be wise, passionate in seeking but not afraid to find, open to all things but not blown away by the winds of fashion, firm in our traditions but not afraid to make new ones, constantly tempted to despair and constantly surprised by joy."

Aah,another Sufjan fan.I love Illinois(e),and Avalanche is almost as good.I love the song,Decatur,and The seer's Tower on Ill.The thiree versions of Chicago on Al are fun,too.Your Kenneth Boulding quote is something I should remember and think about.I am glad I happened upon your sight.
